Step Three: Identify how you are going to introduce the competition
It is possible to enter your students' recipes from the 7th June to the 15th of October. So there are various options for how you could include it in your lessons.
The competition is open to all your students from 11-16 years. So you can either extend to all or pick the years you feel will be able to make most out of the challenge. Whether you are fitting with Food curriculum for the Year 8's, encouraging Year 9 to take a food based GCSE or boosting the confidence and broadening the experience of Year 10's or simply providing enrichment through extra curricular activity there are plenty of options.
- Create your own competition in class
- Perhaps post exams in early July when the students have more time on their hands
- Whittle down the top 5 to send through to the challenge
- Include the competition in your Lesson Plans
- We have provided a series of suggestions that link with the current curriculum
- Perhaps you could use this as a starter lesson plan in September
- Provide as a homework assignment
- Give the students something to focus on over the summer holidays or as a back to school assignment
- Encourage Students to enter independently
- It is possible for students to enter independently; although we believe they would find it more useful to have the support of their teacher should they choose to enter the Mmmake it with Mince Challenge
Step Four: Get your Students and School on board
The competition is FREE to enter
You can enter as many students and recipes as you would like
For the students who do not make it through to the cook-offs
